After rocking the nation with her “Kajrare – Kajrare” and more recently the beautiful portrayal of an Indian princess in Jodha – Akbar, Aishwarya is back yet again with her latest film Sarkar Raj.

Sarkar Raj is a film by Ram Gopal Verma and a sequel to his previous film Sarkar. Sarkar Raj ventures in to the corporate world, finance, corruption, power struggle and politics. Here Aishwarya successfully emulates Rebecca Mark the vice-chairman of Enron. Ash plays Anita Rajan, an aggressive and ambitious business tycoon - she is the CEO of a power plant. She has been portrayed as a subtle yet powerful woman in this film.

The gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will reportedly star in one of the most expensive French film ‘Asterix at the Olympic Games’,it is reported to be one of the most expensive European films at approximately 93 million dollars. Apparently the film is also slated to premiere in India at the prestigious French Film Festival and it is likely to coincide with Beijing Olympics of 2008. A special role has been writtenjust for Ash in the film.Ash will be the first female character in the film.She will be working with top international stars like Gerard Depardieu, Clovis Cornillac, Michael Schumacher, Jean Claude Van Damme etc.

Meanwhile she is also supposed to play Mumtaz in Ben Kingsley’s ‘Taj Mahal’.Beside that Ash has been offered another international project on the Taj, Michael Radford’s Taj. But in Radford’s Taj, she has been offered the role of Mandi, Salim’s wife.

 

On 26th of January 2008 The Bachchan family came to the city of Nawab’s “Lucknow”  and  Amar Singh played host to  the  family.  In this occasion it came to notice that the new Bungalow of Amar Singh was renamed as Aishwarya with unknown intentions of this family friend.  On Sunday the 27th January Aishwarya laid the stone for the construction of Smt. Aishwarya Bachchan Kanya Mahavidyalaya in a remote village Daulatpur in Distt. Barabanki, Uttar Prdesh. Aishwarya was personally present on this occasion with all her relatives and family friends. She addressed the gathering on this occasion also.

To seek the blessings of the almighty has become a routine exercise for the star couple Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. Yesterday the couple was in Kadapa for seeking the benefaction of the Almighty with family friend Amar Singh and mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan. The couple went straight to the Amin Peer Dargah at Nakkash Colony. A chaddar was offered and special prayers conducted. The couple spent almost three hours at the dargah also known as ‘Pedda’ dargah’ and believed to have been established in 1683 by Sufi saint Peerullah Husaini claiming lineage to Prophet Mohammad. The dargah is also famously called the ‘South Ajmer’ dargah by locals and visitors.

After the Karwa Chauth Aish-Abhi visited The legendary monument of love the Taj Mahal with Jaya Bachchan and family friend Amar Singh on 30th October 2007. It seems Ashwarya was throughly enjoying this trip.  This is for your information that Aishwarya is set to  star in a major international film about the Taj Mahal, India’s famous monument to love.  She will be playing the role of Mumtaz Mahal and the role of Shahjahan will be played by legendary Ben Kingsley.  Other modalities of the film are still being finalized.

Aishwarya is going to play the role of a Karate expert detective in the famous Pink Panther sequel. The cast has been finalized and shooting is on.  Meanwhile grapevine is on about so called pregnancy of Mrs. Bachchan.  But there is hardly any truth about it.  Her film Jodha- Akbar  may be delayed due to her  commitments for  Pink Panther - 2.

After a long gap Aishwarya’s film The Last Legion is going to be released on 24th August in the United States. It is an action adventure film and Aishwarya has played the role of Mira a Byzantine warrior.

There are high hopes and anxiety for this film is in the air, let us see how this film opens in the US.

Aishwarya Rai and her husband Abhishek Bachchan showed up on the opening day of the 60th Cannes film Festival in France.  Before this the couple was also spotted in some of the football matches in England. 

The Cannes Film Festival opened on wednesday the 17th May 2007. On this occasion the couple  posed for a photo session also.
